Venus

"Postcards From Venus"

Briefing – Venus is the second planet from the Sun, and it orbits the sun every 225 Earth days. This planet is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty.  Other than our moon, Venus is the brightest natural object in the night sky, bright enough to be visible in the night sky to the naked eye.

Mission – Our second planet to explore this week is Venus.   Since your friends or parents are probably wondering how you are doing on your voyage to the planets of our solar system, you will be creating a postcard tom send home to them.  On this post card, you will be describing what the planet Venus looks and feels like.

Tools You Will Use:

Comic Life Software – You will be creating your postcard using this graphic software.  Here is the format of the postcard you will be creating:

Front Side: On this side of your postcard you will get an image of the planet Venus from the Internet and you will add lettering to it.  Usually, most post cards say, “Welcome to ____________”.  If you want to create your own idea of what to say on the front of your postcard from Venus, then you may do so.

Back Side: On this side you will get a very small image of a stamp using Google images.  You will also use the writing function in Comic Life to write facts about the planet Venus.  You will write at least 50 words about the planet Venus and what it is like based on research you have gathered from the internet.
