Jupiter "Home of the Whopper Planet"


Briefing – Today, space explorers, we will be taking on the biggest planet in our solar system, Jupiter.  Jupiter is the fifth planet from our Sun and it is a gas giant with mass one-thousandth that of the Sun but is two and a half times the mass of all the other planets in the Solar System combined. Jupiter is classified as a gas giant along with three other planets; Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Mission – You will be provided with a printed sheet that will ask you a series of questions about the planet Jupiter.  You will also be provided with a list of websites that you can use to find the answers to the questions about Jupiter.  Once you have answered all of the questions about this planet, you will turn in your printed sheets with the answers on them.

Tools – For this particular mission, you will need a pencil, the printed sheet, your on-board computer, and a list of websites to use to answer the questions.  To get a copy of the question sheet, click here:  Jupiter Sheet

Procedure - Once your mission commander has handed out the sheets to you, you will use the websites on this page to answer all of the supplied questions.  After you have finished your quest for the answers, you will place your name on the sheet and turn it in.
